How much CPU, memory, and network consumption should I expect from AetherStore?
PinnedCPU:
AetherStore's CPU consumption is generally very low, even during load. Using a 4-core, 3.4 gigahertz processor as a Mount (where CPU consumption would be greatest), maximum CPU consumption tops out at about 8% for writes, and roughly 13% for reads. Consumption on all other machines will be even less than that.
Memory:
Regular use of AetherStore averages less than 500 MB of memory use per node.
Bandwidth:
Bandwidth usage is highly dependent on the amount of data, number of machines, and how often computers are turned on and off, but in thousands of hours of testing, we've never saturated the network even on a 100mbit switch.
Generally, leaving AetherStore running in the background will have minimal impact on conventional machines, and workstations will function as usual with little-to-no noticeable slowdown on machine performance.
